Rain
Open a 600 x 400 transparent image.
Open a tube of your choice shift + D
to copy close original.
Copy and paste your tube as a new
layer on to your 600 x 400.
Tools / deform tool / resize and position
your tube then click pan.
Minimise the original tube for now.
Activate the tube layer.
Tools/ Magic Wand / settings: Add
(Shift) / RGB Value / Tolerance
16 / Sample Merged and Contiguous
unchecked / Feather 0 /
Anti-alias unchecked.
Click on the flowers to activate the
ants.
Duplicate this layer until you have
3.
Activate the first layer with the
ants on.
Adjust / Add, Remove noise / Add
Noise Settings: Gaussian checked
/ Noise 30 % and Monochrome checked ok.
X out this layer and activate the
next one.
Adjust / Add, Remove noise / Add
Noise Settings: Gaussian checked
/ Noise 40 % and Monochrome checked
ok.
X out this layer and activate the next one.
Adjust / Add, Remove noise / Add
Noise Settings: Gaussian checked
/ Noise 50 % and Monochrome checked ok.
Selections / Select none.
X out the last noise layer.
Layer palette add a new raster layer
move it to top and activate it.
Right click on the new layer and
duplicate until you have 3.
Start at the top, right click and
rename the 3 blank layers Rain 1
, Rain 2 , Rain 3, and the bottom layer
Background.
Activate the top layer rain 1.
Effects VDL Adrenaline / snowflakes /
settings: Amount 230 / Minimum size
5 / Maximum size 10 / Hardness 100 /
Transparency 5/
Snow color Basic-snow / Random seed /
HIGHLIGHT the end box and type in
900 /
ok.
Adjust / blur / motion blur / angle
15 / strength 40 / ok.
Adjust / sharpness / sharpen more.
X out Rain 1 and activate Rain 2.
Effects VDL Adrenaline / snowflakes /
settings: Amount 230 / minimum size
5 / Maximum size 10 / Hardness 100 /
Transparency 5/
Snow color Basic-snow / Random seed /
HIGHLIGHT the end box and type in
1800 / ok.
Adjust / blur / motion blur / angle
15 / strength 40 / ok.
Adjust / sharpness / sharpen more.
Effects VDL Adrenaline / snowflakes /
settings: Amount 230 / minimum size
5/ maximum size 10 / Hardness 100 /
Transparency 5/
Snow color
Basic-snow / Random seed / HIGHLIGHT
the end box and type in 2890 / ok.
Adjust / blur / motion blur / angle
15 / strength 40 / ok.
Adjust / sharpness / sharpen more.
X out Rain 3
(This is the settings for a light
rain if you want heavier rain change
the size range at the end make it higher).
X out all the 3 rain layers for now.
Material Palette choose a gradient of
your choice.
I used a silver-white cc
Tools / flood fill / fill the bottom
layer with your Gradient
Click Pan.
Effects / Texture effects / mosaic
glass / number of columns 60 /
number of rows 60 / symmetric ticked / glass c
30 / edge c 100 /
grout w 10 / grout d 100 ok.
Adjust / sharpness / sharpen more.
Duplicate until you have 3.
X out all layers.
un x rain 1 and the first tube layer
and the first background layer.
Layers / Merge visible x out merged.
unx rain 2 / a tube layer and a
background layer.
once again merge visible.
x out merged.
un x the last 3 layers and merge
visible.
Un x the original tube and copy the
copyright.
Paste the copyright as a new layer.
Tools deform tool move the copyright
into position then click pan.
Also add your watermark.
Duplicate the copyright until you
have 3.
X out all.
Un x the first copyright and merged
and merge visible x out merged.
un x the next copyright and merged
and merge visible x out merged.
Do the same with the last 2 layers.
Sharpen each merged layer.
Adjust / brightness and contrast /
brightness and contrast / lower the brightness
and contrast 0 / to
make your tube darker
settings vary with each tube so use
your own brightness settings.
Do this to each tube layer.
On your layer palette you should now
have 3 merged layers all x out.
un x top layer and resize to 80 % by
using image and resize make sure resize
all layers checked ok.
Material Palette choose the colours
you want to use for your writing.
Click each box in turn and select the
colour you want. (foreground
and background properties)
Tools / text tool big A / choose the
font you want and the size use
Your own judgement.
Write your name and click to apply
it.
In layer palette convert vector to
raster and duplicate writing until
You have 3.
Pair each layer with a merged layer
and merge visible leaving 3 merged layers
again.
File/Save as Animation shop psp or
psp 7 format
Open in Animation shop
You will notice you have 3 frames.
Test it works by selecting view /
Animation or use the view animation Icon
and repeat this step to stop it
animating.
File save as give it a name and save
type as GIF and your finished.
You could add a frame to your
animation if you wanted but remember to
duplicate the frame 3 times or it won’t work
once you have added your
animation.
